+ Are we able to have an in-person consultation?

Absolutely- I would love to get to know you better! Naebr Design is located in the lovely Minden, Ontario. I am very happy to meet in person if you are a local couple and would like to have a consultation to share your ideas. We currently serve Canada-wide so consultations via phone or video chat are also a good option for couples who would prefer to do so when beginning their process.

+ How much will invitations cost?

The cost of invitations varies based on two main factors. The first is the amount of design time that is needed- semi-custom invitations are more budget-friendly because the time to create your personalized design is less than custom suites, which require designing from scratch. The second factor that will change your pricing come with the addition of upgrades and embellishments.

A 2-piece suite includes your invitation and reply card, each with an envelope in the colour of your choice and starts at $5.75 per set. The price per set increases if you choose upgrades such as cotton paper, or specialty ink and printing options.

Custom invitations start at the same prices per set listed above and also have a $500 design fee. This gives you the personalized details and input you're looking for, and covers the time needed to create your pieces and revise them until we have your one-of-a-kind invitations.

+ When should we start the invitation process?

Couples interested in booking Naebr Design for invitations can do so within a year of their wedding date. I can only work with a limited number of couples per month, so even if we aren't starting your designs right away I can make sure you have a spot booked in my design calendar. If you've chosen to book your spot a bit early we will have a chat about your invitations when you're 6-8 months away from your wedding. If you are sending save the dates we will chat about these 9-12 months away in order to give guests proper notice.

+ How many invitations should we order?

You will need one invitation per household (not per person), which is easy enough to count if you have a completed guest list. It is always a good idea to order extra invitations when placing your initial order. There is no perfect number, but anywhere between 10-15 is usually enough to consider keepsake copies, extra guests who may be added to the list, and invites you may have to resend if they get lost in the mail.

+ Can we print extra invitations later?

Printing extra invitations after the initial order can be done but will have extra costs. These could be set-up fees for printing, the cost to ship the additional invitations, or any rush fees there may be depending on the new timeline.

+ Do I need to send Save the Dates?

Save the dates are a great choice for couples that want to give their guests extra notice and ensure they will, as the name suggests, save your date. This is great for destination weddings, not only out of country, but also if the majority of guests will have to travel a decent distance. They are also a good idea if your wedding date is a time when guests would normally travel or be otherwise ‘booked’ such as a holiday or long weekend.

+ How can we personalize our stationery?

The type of invitation suite you choose will decide the types of customizations that are possible. If you are having custom invitations made, the possibilities are almost endless! We start with a blank slate and make all of our design choices based on your preferences. If you’re interested in one of our semi-custom designs, they can have more limitations and vary based on the design. Print methods, ink colours, wording, and embellishments are often ways you can personalize these suites. All of the customizations that apply to a specific design are listed on its individual order page. See the Semi-Custom Invitations page to get started.

+ Can I customize the invitation wording?

You bet! That’s one of the great things about working with a wedding stationer. If you’re not sure what wording you want I can provide suggestions that will match the design or the formality of your big day. If you know exactly what you want, that works too. We want to make sure that your information fits well on the card we’re designing, but other than that there are not a lot of limitations!

+ Are envelopes included with our order?

Envelopes in the colour of your choice are included in the price for any pieces that require them- this includes save the dates, the invitation, and reply cards. The number of envelopes provided will be the same as the number of invitation sets that are ordered. Please keep in mind that if you are addressing envelopes by hand (either you or a calligrapher) you will want extras. If you are working with a calligrapher for envelope addressing please let us know the extra amount they need so we can have them ordered and sent with the rest of your pieces.

+ Do you offer envelope addressing?

Yes! The forms for both custom and semi-custom inquiry have the option to select envelope addressing as an add-on. You can choose between guest and return address printing or add them both. This can be done on any pieces that would already have an envelope (save the dates, invitations, and reply cards). Our pricing proposals are flexible documents, so if you are not sure about address printing at the time of ordering, or if you’ve already placed your order and want to add address printing later, you can do so as long as your timeline allows.

+ Will we be able to see a proof or preview of our design before it’s printed?

Absolutely! The process is the same for both custom and semi-custom designs and a digital proof is provided for any pieces that are being ordered. You will also be asked to have a close look and sign off on the final proof before it is either sent to the printer (digital printing) or plates are made (in-house letterpress printing).

+ Will you assemble our invitations?

Any custom or semi-custom order pieces that require assembly (e.g., adding liners to envelopes or an invitation onto a backing card) will be done for you, and all pieces will be sent separately for you to assemble and send out. If you would like me to send your fully assembled invitations on your behalf, or send them to you fully assembled please indicate so when booking. This option can be added to any of our semi-custom invitation suites by choosing the form to 'Order with Additional Options', select 'Full Invitation Assembly' from the checklist of add-ons, and the cost for assembly will be included on your proposal.

+ When will we receive our invitations?

Our design and production timelines allow for you to have your invitations in your hands 12-14 weeks before your wedding. Every client receives a customized timeline based on their wedding date and design choices, so you'll know your scheduled shipping date when we start the process. Once we have all of the finished pieces for your order, and the remainder of your balance is paid, we will send them on their way to you! Our parcels are currently shipped via Canada Post. Shipping times will vary based on your location in Canada, but we will take every measure to get your parcel to you as quickly as possible.

+ Do you provide stationery for events other than weddings?

Yes! Stationery for any other events related to your big day (engagement party, bridal shower, stag and doe, etc.) can be made as a custom design, but we do not currently offer semi-custom options. We can also design invitations and stationery for events completely removed from weddings depending on our availability. For any stationery inquiries not listed on our site please reach out with the details via our contact page and we'll be happy to help!
